A Boobie Call Update

I settled on a name for the collection/exhibit and I’m really excited about it! SQUISH.

If you follow me on threads you already know that I have AuDHD and am impulsive as hell. I will fully start an entire art collection on a whim. You should also know that I love boobs and have pretty bad body dysmorphic disorder from a variety childhood traumas. I’ve managed to work through it with different kinds of art. I still go through phases when I can’t look myself in the mirror. But on those days, it’s nice to have art to look at and think about how appreciative I was of those parts when I did like them. It grounds me.

That’s not why I started this project, but I wanted to give you a little background into how I got into drawing/painting bodies. I paint myself the most, both because of dysmorphia and because I have easy access to my own body, but I do have experience with all types of bodies. If you want an example of my range, a few of the fabulous people of threads collaborated on the Demon Hours coloring book with me–which you can check out here.

So you’re probably wondering what the next steps are–especially if you submitted.
Now that I’ve gone through the first batch of submissions, I’ll start sending out Likeness Release forms. After those come back, I’ll put together some images for y’all to reference. I’m not on a deadline, but I am in school full-time and like to stay organized. So, the references won’t be sent out until the release forms are returned. It just makes things easier on me.

I received way more submissions than I could’ve hoped for, but there’s no hierarchy with this project. What I’m most-likely to do is pick a few to start and just keep painting until I feel like I have enough boobs for a full collection/exhibit. Once I have enough paintings to show a cohesive collection, I’ll start checking out galleries and/or exhibit spaces.

I’ll post here for generalized updates. That way anyone who is interested in this exhibit will have somewhere to follow along. If you’ve submitted to be in the exhibit, you’ll be contacted directly.
