A Warning At the Gate

The second painting in my “It wasn’t 62 million men, it was 62 million hits” series is finished!

There Was A Warning At the Gate features a penis on a pike in between two empty pikes that have blood stains on them, implying that they also had dismembered penises on them at some point.

I imagine that there’s a gate surrounding a town and the women of that town have taken it upon themselves to exact justice on the perpetrators within and they put the dismembered penises out as a warning to any men who might consider moving in.

Like it’s predecessor, it is oil paint on a 9″ wide by 12″ high stretched canvas.

You will find the work in progress shots that I can’t share on social media below.

I have about five ideas left, but I’m just working out my anger. I might not do them all… or I might do more. Either way, I won’t be pushing myself to do more than I’m content to do.

Let me know what you think in the comments!
Especially if this is cathartic for you and you’d like to see more!

❤ Liz
